  • Homework
Show how you solve these number problems by using nearest 10 strategy
or x2 or x5 strategy.
  • 1. 4 x 9=36
  • 9 is closer to ten so change the nine to the a 10 4 x 10 is 40 then 1 x 4= 4 and then 40 take away 4 is
  • 2. 8 x 9=72 8 turns into a 10 because added 2 so 10x 9=90 and then 9 x 2 =18 take away 90 is 72. so answer is 72

3. 9 x 6=54
  • Change nine into a 10. 10 x 6= 60 and then 6x 1= 6 and then 60-6=54

4. 7 x 8=56
  • change the 8 into a 10. so 10 x7=70.7 x 2=14. then 14-70=56

My Net-Book Poem

Net-books are really cool
they make me feel like a fool.

I charge them every day
and give money to pay.

I have a Google doc
and I remember to log off.

I share them with my friends
and I don’t use any more pens

But I always say goodbye
and always leave an apple pie.

I would like to thank Miss Tui my teacher
for being my academic preacher.

:)Thank you:)

My Prayer To Jesus

Dear Jesus,

You have walked the fourteen steps with pain and with no complain.

You have walked the fourteen steps, without saying mean words to those who hurt you. You asked God to bless them.

Help me love others as you love us. Help me to remember you by praying all the time and doing what is right.

Amen.

Athletics Day!

This is the day I have been not waiting for, well it is Athletics “ya” I said with no excitement. All the other kid were excited but me.

“Fold your arms” I cried. Sadly, no one was taking any notice of me. No one listened. I cried out again. Sh, sh,. Oh no! I couldn’t control my team. I am not a good leader. But I tried my best. I gave up. “ Tokilupe you can do,” I cried. I backed away and pretend I did not see my team.

It was time for our house chant. Keas tried they best but geckos won. Even though we didn’t win, we were proud of what we did.

It was time to announce the winners. I knew we were last. I didn’t want to hear Mr Coakley announced it.
“Fourth place”, he bellowed is Keas. We clapped quietly. Kiwis were third, Tuis’ second. And the winners is Geckos. Yea, yea, they were good.
I was not interested in the rest of the day. I was disappointed with myself and my house.

“Time to go home” I yelled. I grabbed my bag and off I went not saying good bye to my friends.
